The Ground floor

027We’d like to think that from the moment you pull up onto you own private parking, surrounded by half an acre of landscaped gardens, that you’ll immediately feel at home at Harbour Lights. As you enter the house you’ll find lots of hanging space and plenty of room for walking boots before you walk through to the luxurious open plan lounge with it’s log burning stove and 42” flat screen TV and smart blu ray player.

The house was completely refitted in 2015 so everything in it is new.

As you walk through to the open plan dining area and kitchen you get your first glimpse of the magnificent view. We’ve taken away as much of the North and East kitchen walls as we cam without the roof falling down, and replaced them with floor to ceiling windows to give you panoramic view of the harbour, up the coast towards Dustanburgh Castle and out to sea. You’ll spend time here, watching the birds, or the fishing boats or the sea crashing against the rocks and harbour or even the occasional school of dolphins or porpoises that pass through a scenery that constantly changes.

The kitchen is well supplied with dishwasher, American style fridge freezer, neff ovens and induction hob, microwave, and separate washing machine & dryer. The dining table seats 8 comfortably.

There is a second lounge which also has great village, sea and harbour views as well as a 42” smart TV and Wii games console with a selection of games. It’s a great room to quietly relax in or for the kids to watch TV or play on the Wii

The led lights, seagrass flooring, oak and glass balustrade and ship’s rope banisters make the stair a feature in themselves. Even the landing has great views of the castle.

The Bedrooms

040_1920x420_acf_cropped1On the first floor both rooms have en-suite shower rooms and TVs. The sea view room has a king size bed and floor to ceiling window with Juliet balcony. You can even lie in bed and watch the boats in the harbour.

The country view room as beautiful views over the gardens and countryside and has twin beds.

On the second floor both rooms share a bathroom. The double room has magnificent countryside views whilst the cabin room has bunk beds and fabulous views over Craster, the harbour and the Castle. The bunk beds themselves have been built in with their own curtains and reading lights and even the adults argue over who gets to sleep in them!

deck with a viewOutside

DSC05752Out of the kitchen door you’ll find a partially covered decked area with floor to ceiling glass panel to provide an idea shelter if the wind is blowing. The deck sits high above the harbour and you can watch the holiday makers below with that satisfied feeling you get when you have the best seat in the village!

Next to the deck is a small garden with 8 seater dining table and charcoal BBQ.

There is also a small path that leads from the back garden if you want a quick short cut to the harbour or the pub!

From the parking area at the front there are two paths down into the gardens which slope down to a small stream. The gardens are quite steep in places so please take care and always supervise young children. Whilst rarely used, there is also a public right of way lower gardenacross the garden however, this does not affect the privacy of the house.

The path from the garden takes you straight to the harbour and beyond that is one of Britain’s best loved coastal walks to Dunstanburgh Castle, past the castle you’ll find the stunning beach of Embleton Bay
